❖ Earthos established contact with Tufts University’s WSSS (Water: Systems, Science, and Society) Program at the invitation of Dr. Antje Danielson, Program Manager, Tufts Institute of the Environment.

Phil Loheed, President of Earthos, attended the WSSS Student, Faculty and Alumni dinner event at the Tufts Campus on 11 December 2009, where he introduced the Water+Sustainability Conference initiative.

❖ Earthos is advising the Roca Center work-study team of the Boston Architectural College in its zero-carbon, net-zero energy retrofit study. We are also providing working space for the team at the Earthos studio.
This is a joint initiative of the Pratice Faculty of the BAC with Earthos.

Future Boston...
is a research project in which student and educator/scientist teams will create policy plans to achieve water, food and energy independence for the city. Students will be hired to work in the project laboratory to research, analyze and develop urban design/policy. In addition, an “omnibus” group of science and design faculty will teach courses in parthership with the practice laboratory. ❖ ❖ ❖

Earthos is proposing an international conference to explore the relationships between WATER, the HUMAN and BIOTIC COMMUNITIES at the global scale. is a proto-typical zero carbon live-work project, combining landscape restoration and conservation with live-work residential units to create a model community. ❖ ❖ ❖
BikeSpa...
is a research and feasibility analysis to result in creation of secure club-like facilities for bicycle commuters. Core facilities are envisioned to include showers, lockers to accommodate business attire, and secure bike storage in convenient locations. Other facilities may also occur, including parts and repair, newsstand, café, etc. ❖ ❖ ❖

offers, graphic, branding, leasing assistance, and various product or space design services to entrepreneurs desiring optimum environmental compatibility. ❖ ❖ ❖
Roca Center Study, Chelsea, MA...
is a study of the physical plant and operations at this youth activity center. Roca Center approached the Boston Architectural College for assistance in creating a “zero-carbon/net zero energy program. The BAC created a work-study student group which is working under Earthos advisement to carry out the study. ❖ ❖ ❖
